Well, hello! This is a page devoted to me, Miles, the wee-est of we Feezell's. This is a place for all the ogling grandparents, friends and family to check-in and see what I have been up to as I grow, develop, and burn through diapers at a fierce pace. Mostly it's a place for my mom and dad to post pictures for those uninitiated in the world of Facebook (and those who are perhaps better off for it). So, bookmark this page and check in often.

Friends!
Last weekend, the Gorley's came up for a visit. I had a great time playing with Emmy and Willie. We played soccer, rolled in my hooptie on the front lawn, picked apricots, and enjoyed a pizza dinner. The next day we went to the Natural History Museum and saw the dinosaurs and live butterflies! I learned to smell the flowers (not pick them), and look at the butterflies (not squish them).

We Jam.
Daddy-O and I have a common appreciation for music. He plays songs with melody and rhythm. And while I can get behind that, for the most part, I am really more of a key pounding animal. To each their own.

Happy Father's Day!
My dad is pretty cool. He is a really funny guy. But he's also really loving and generous with me. He likes to show me new cool things, like how to take the pit out of a cherry and how to pick red strawberries (rather than green ones). I love it when he sings to me and writes songs for me - like my favorite, "Crocks With No Socks." Happy fathers day dad - M.

Jump House!
My school had their annual "graduation" party a couple weeks ago. I got to go in my very first bounce house. Dude. These are amazing! Nevermind the fact that I got really, really sick about 7-10 days later (the normal incubation period for your standard virus), it was totally worth it. This guy with me is my best buddy Ewan, we are two peas in a pod. And the nice lady is Ms. Brandi, I adore her!

Yosemite!
Last weekend we went to Yosemite National Park with some friends. We hiked, climbed rocks, and enjoyed waterfalls. I got to meet some deer, which I frequently call "beer" because I get confused when such similar terms are thrown around with such frequency. I can't wait to go back!

California Kid
Grandma Cici makes THE BEST artichokes and aoli - and yes, I can say "artichokes and aoli." I mean you learn to say things that are this delicious quite easily.

Meet Whalon
To keep me from hitting my head on the faucet, which I am prone to do, my mom and dad bought this cover we call "Whalon the Whale." Lately, I have been obsessed with water in all forms: waterfalls, water pouring, water on the floor, water to drink. All I know is there is some talk in this house about the water bill lately....

Mama and Bop-Bop do a special walk for Ci-Ci
Last weekend, mama and Bop-Bop braved the rain in Santa Barbara to participate in a walk for breast cancer research. 100% of the money raised went to benefit the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, where Grandma Ci-Ci is getting her breast cancer treated. Mom was the highest individual fundraiser, raising over $4,000 for the cause. She was even featured on the local news and in the newspaper. She's a pretty big deal lately, just ask her...

I know some things.
My vocabulary has been blowing-up lately. One day it's "wawa", the next it's "water." Check out a few of my current favorite words.

Beach Day
I have really only been around for a few seasons, but that is enough to know that it is unseasonably warm lately. We took advantage of the beautiful weather with a trip to the beach this afternoon to play in the sand and chase birds. I am super into pouring stuff into things; water, marbles, rocks, dirt and sand will all do the trick.

My New School!
I am absolutely head-over-heels for my new teachers "Jenn-fer" (Jennifer) and "Bee-ya" (Brandi). I have totally found my groove. I am excited to grab my lunch and head out the door with dada in the morning to go to school, and I am reluctant to come home with mama in the evening. I nap for at least two hours every day, I eat healthy snacks, I play outside with my buddies, I learn how to play music, I make playdough, and I get to do all kinds of fun, messy things that I can't do at home. It's the best! The worst part is that it now makes being home on the weekends seem like hanging out at the DMV - with some snacks.
Here are some photos that Ms. Jennifer sent home.

Fall Catalog
Despite the fact that it was in the 80's today in Santa Barbara, last weekend was actually starting to feel Fall-like. (Mind you, it's technically Winter.) Santa Barbara does many things right (hiking, beaches, restaurants, schools) but it is horrible at seasons. Just after these shots were taken, I had some friends over to play in the front yard. Then we went inside to have blueberry, buckwheat pancakes. I love weekends!

I call it: "Wood on Cardboard"
My new school is big on art and I really enjoy it. I paint, draw, color, push sequins into glue-dough, and most recently, I create (((SCULPTURE COLLAGE THINGIES))) (the triple-parentheses are supposed to mimic the Voice of God. Keep up.). So, when I brought this fine wonder home the other day my mom and dad were very impressed.
I recognize that talent is innate but that it also takes a lifetime to hone and perfect. If I am to cut any of my ears off in the near future, I need to get started crafting my arts. So, in order to determine whether I have what it takes to be an (((ARTIST))), I decided to exploit a dear family friend, art critic, and allllmmmoosssst PhD, Kim B. to tell me how it is. Give it to me straight, sweet siren of sculpture!
Here is her critique of my work - Wood on Cardboard:
"In this sculptural collage from the artist's early career, a strong negative capability is already observable. The balance of the regular cardboard ground is off-set by a considered, if seemingly random, placement of the objects. Recalling Donald Judd, though clearly rejecting the regularity of his forms, this piece already exhibits a powerful sense of self, giving us a first glimpse of the concerns that he would take up in his mature work."
"Powerful sense of self," you got that right, sugar! I'm not real sure what the rest means just yet... give me a few years.

Grandpa Mike (aka "Bop Bop")
This guy is Grandpa Mike, or "Bop Bop" as I have taken to calling him. He was sadly left out of the 2011 slide show because he was either behind another camera or working in the Bay Area. But! He's back in SB now at an awesome new job... taking care of Grandma CeCe! That must be his new job because they keep talking about what a great new job it is. So that has to be it. I can't imagine anything more fun than hanging out with Grandma CeCe all day. Welcome home Bop Bop!
